Lisbon Love: Day 2 of 2
So I won't lie, our second day in Lisbon may have started with a slight hangover due to the unplanned antics of the night before. Due to this, we made an executive decision that brunch was an absolute NECESSITY. We set off in search of this super cute instagrammable brunch place I had heard great things about, but when we arrived there was an HOUR long queue and we just couldn't quite deal with that at that particular moment in time. So we googled "best brunch in Lisbon" and went to the first place that came up on TripAdvisor - it was SO GOOD (and also did all day brunch which is always a winner for me. Nothing better than brunch for dinner also if you are so inclined). We order loads and shared - two Eggs Benedicts, pancakes with berries and maple syrup AAAAND granola with yoghurt, berries and honey and two orange juices. I can't quite explain how happy we were devouring that food - it was amazing. I'll try and find the name of the place and link it under the photo!
Sufficiently stuffed, hangovers cured and very content, we continued on our travels of Lisbon. We had planned to rent bikes to cycle around the city that day but unfortunately a lot of things close in Lisbon on Sunday - all bike rental places being one of those things. So we decided we would just continue exploring on foot - often the best way to get around a city like Lisbon because you can easily stop and explore places you come across along the way and don't have to worry about parking a bike!
First up we came across this cathedral which was really cool, we were able to go in and walk around and see what used to be there before the cathedral was built etc. You can see one of the infamous Lisbon trams in the below photo - we didn't actually manage to get on one - they all seemed to be going in the opposite direction to where we wanted to go, as well as inevitably being on the opposite side of the road to the one we were on at all times. Lol. The on foot exploration continues.
A (not) rare (at all) sighting of the many life threatening Tuk Tuk's that fly around the streets of Lisbon. Now this is something that has to be experienced - there's no excuse to not hitch a lift in one, the city is literally crawling with them!
As you can see, I still wasn't over these ridiculously amazing purple trees. I want them all over my garden! If you could see my camera roll on my phone and just how many different photos of these trees I took - it was excessive. But also necessary, because LOOK HOW PRETTY. They definitely made the next step of our adventure more .. bearable. Basically a 40 minute uphill HIKE to Castelo San Jorge - a beautiful castle and grounds that looks out over the entire city of Lisbon. Definitely worth the trek but please bring water and/or make sure you are armed with ice cream shortly after your arrival! The castle is so beautiful and the grounds are amazing, with views the entire way over Lisbon from all angles - it was possible to walk around the top walls of the castle and see Lisbon from every angle. The photos really don't do the view justice - definitely add it to your list if you're heading to Lisbon, you have to see these views for yourself.

And so commences the inevitable outfit photo attempts - as you can see we eventually got a couple, one had to be a selfie angle because the sun just made it virtually impossible to get an outfit photo that didn't have some sort of crazy shadow or glare on it!
(I'm also aware you can see my bra at the back, yes, I didn't bring a suitable bra for this top as I temporarily forgot about the cut outs at the back. Apologies.)

In true Niamh fashion, she decided she needed an outfit photoshoot also (i.e. she was taking the piss out of my fashion blogger photo attempts) and so we have what you see here. Niamh - being totally serious and posing in true fashion blogger style. Ahem.
That evening, we ended our final day in Lisbon the way I believe most days should end - featuring Rosé and pizza. HEA-VEN.
The next morning we were up bright and early to catch the train to Albufeira for Mary's wedding - more to come on that! The train was just slightly painful as there was some sort of kids summer camp trip happening and of course they were all in our carriage. CLASSIC. Gotta love a herd of loud kids together.
