My Big Fat Greek Getaway: Week #2 - Craig David, Pirate Ship & Zakynthos Town

So Week Two in Zante started with no injuries (RESULT) and a Craig David concert at Pure beach club (the beach club in Zante that Gaz from Geordie Shore owns - super fancy and all the girls who work there have to wear tiny red swimsuits/bikinis and high heels. Of course). Unfortunately I do not have many pictures from the concert apart from what I wore (see below) - I took lots of videos on Snapchat but for some reason when I upload those videos to a blog post they don't play (annoyiiiing), so you'll just have to take my word for it. It was a great concert and quite a messy night afterwards but so so much fun!

Next up for our second week in Zante was our Pirate Ship day trip which we went on with Colleen and Cliona (the two Irish girls we had met the week before, see previous blog post). We set out at 8am on a bus from Laganas to Zante/Zakynthos Town where the port is and there we boarded a legit pirate ship. I'll try and find a photo of it online - I was too busy taking pictures of the views that I forgot to photograph the actual ship! It was an 8 hour trip the entire way around the island and we got to stop and get off to swim at various different locations; Shipwreck Beach (so so cool, the water was crystal clear and was amazing to swim in. Our skin was so soft afterwards because of the amount of salt in the water - it exfoliates your body when you're just swimming in it), the caves and various other spots around the island. The water around the island is such a beautiful colour, it's hard to believe it when you see it in real life and realise it looks just like the photos you see!

(Spot the pirate?)

We had such a fun day and we have so many great memories - one that stands out was a Greek guy called Ronnie who befriended us with his maximum 10 words of English, was a self-proclaimed model, singer and hairdresser and proceeded to give us all fishtail braids while serenading us at the same time, and passing around his modelling photos on his phone. At the end of the boat trip, there was a pirate themed karaoke dance party for the children on the boat - and up jumps Ronnie in full costume, trying to drag us up dancing with him. I couldn't tell you the last time I laughed so much, it was priceless.

After the 8 hour trip and multiple swims, when we got back to Laganas we were fit to drop with hunger, so went for dinner at a place just off the strip on the beach in Laganas called Cool Peppers. If you ever go to Zante/Laganas you have to go here - it has the most amazing food and drinks and it is in such a beautiful location - right on the beach! We stayed there for hours laughing about the day.

Another week two excursion included a trip to Zante/Zakynthos Town. It is the old town on the island and has none of the nightclub scene that the strip in Laganas has - it is much more chilled! The port is there with super fancy looking yachts for miles, very James Bond. You could wander around for hours there and there would always be something new to see and look at, it is a beautiful town! During our stay in Zante we got absolutely addicted to frozen yoghurt (something the Greek know how to do very well) and ate so much of it with every possible topping you could imagine, I miss it terribly. *sobs*

(My dream apartments in Zakynthos Town. Imagine living here? Just LOOK how cute they are).

Our second week also consisted of MANY nights out, both with Cliona and Colleen and two Scottish girls (Caitlin and Lily) we met at the beach club we'd go to during the day (Cherry Bay) - it really was the ultimate gals holiday, we had so many fun nights out with the girls we met (followed by equally as many funny hungover days). Colleen and Cliona were island-hopping so left at the end of our second week to go to their next stop which was Santorini - we had a last supper all together and there were tears leaving, we missed them so much for our last week, but we have stayed in contact and are already planning our next reunion (eeeeppp so exciting)!

Hangover cure 101: Cocktail slushies on the beach

This second post was not quite as long-winded and rambly as the first one I hope (apologies about that, I get carried away because I want to tell you everything and also I take waheeeeyyy too many photos so excuse that also).

Part three (the final part *sniffle*) is on it's way, keep your eyes peeled!

Thank you so much for reading,
