Holiday Diary: The One Where He Proposed

A few weeks ago Ed and I packed our (overweight) bags and jetted off to beautiful Amalfi. You might remember we were there a couple of years ago for 3 nights when we were visiting different parts of Italy, and we loved it so much then that we figured we would go back and spend the entire holiday there. BLISS.

Outfit details: Gingham Two Piece (Bershka), bag (ASOS), sunglasses (ASOS), earrings (& Other Stories)

However, little did I know about the plot twist that ensued - Ed proposed on the first day we were there! Safe to say we celebrated and over-treated ourselves for the remainder of our 2 week stay.

We stayed in a gorgeous little Air BnB which I will link here, however be warned there are 115 steep steps to get up to it. It may not seem like a lot but in 34 degree heat and/or after a bottle of vino, they are not fun. ANYWHO.

Beaches

We spent the majority of the time chilling, on the beach, eating amazing Italian food and drinking amazing Italian wine. As it was August, the beaches were pretty full, and the prices for sunbeds/umbrellas were through the roof - the cheapest being €50 at Silver Moon for the day, also not allowed to bring your own snacks/drinks, so if you want to eat or drink anything you have to pay more on top of that!

My advice would be to walk the 10 minutes to Atrani Beach, just around the corner from Amalfi, for a much quieter and much cheaper beach experience, where you can bring your own food/drinks to the beach and not pay a small fortune to lie on the beach for the day. Atrani itself is a gorgeous little town with some adorable family-owned restaurants and bars, with a gorgeous view of the water.

Positano also have a really gorgeous beach - slightly cheaper that Silver Moon for the day there if you sit in the Blue Moon seats.

This gorgeous spot is Furore - so beautiful! The beach itself is stones and is partially in the shade most of the time so not somewhere you'd probably stay for the day, but to get sunbeds there is super cheap. Bring your own drinks/snacks and chill.
